Client: Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba Type of Contract: - Unit price contract Year of completion: 2023 Project Overview: This project involved the thin bituminous milling and overlay of the PTH 100/PTH 101 Perimeter Highway at several locations around Winnipeg, MB. This treatment resurfaced the busy highway which improved rideability and safety through increased tire traction and skid resistance, as well as prolonged the service life of the pavement. This was Bayview’s first Superpave asphalt project, which utilized crushed granite aggregates to deliver a top-quality asphalt pavement. To manage the heavy traffic volumes operations were carried out on both day and night shifts, avoiding work during the peak rush-hours periods to minimize travel delays and inconvenience to the public.
