Job Title: Project Manager / ESTIMATOR
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Position Type: Full-time
Bayview Construction is a Winnipeg-based leader in heavy construction, specializing in excavation, road building, concrete & asphalt paving, as well as utility installations and repairs. We are currently seeking a motivated, professional individual to contribute to project estimating and management for our growing team.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma in Engineering Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Expertise: Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, problem-solving, and project timelines.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to review tender documents, specifications, and addendums to determine project scope and requirements.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the construction industry (estimating experience is an asset).
Key Responsibilities: As a Project Manager / Estimator, you will play a critical role in bidding on projects and overseeing project execution and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Project Estimating: Identifying new tenders, assessing suitability to bid, soliciting subcontractor & suppliers, bid preparation & submissions.
- Site Administration: Manage project information, documentation, and files. Review time sheets and process invoices.
- Tracking & Reporting: Monitor production quantities, equipment utilization, and schedule activity (e.g., start dates,
- milestones, completion percentages).
- Material Coordination: Organize material delivery, address discrepancies, and ensure timely supply.
- Documentation: Collect and track documentation for extra work, submittals, and billing purposes.
- Safety & Quality Leadership: Adhere to and promote safety and quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Other Duties: Perform administrative or project-based tasks as assigned.
