Client: Manitoba Transportation and InfrastructureLocation: Rosser, Manitoba Type of Contract: Unit price contract Year of completion: 2024 Project Overview: The project involved the reconstruction of PTH 6 to convert the former undivided highway to a divided highway, intersection improvements at PR 236 which included the construction of Manitoba’s first two-lane concrete roundabout on a provincial trunk highway, PTH 101 intersection turning lanes and geometry improvements, and passing lanes along PTH 6. This project also included coordination with the railway, installation of new traffic signals, and significant traffic staging which involved detour construction and widenings to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow was maintained throughout construction. This work included new embankment construction, culvert jacking and installations, pavement pulverization, bituminous milling and paving, concrete pavements and curbs, a stamped coloured concrete apron, and on-site concrete crushing. This project was awarded the MHCA/MTI 2023 Annual Award in the Special Projects category.
